Environment Conservation Commission

The Alden Environment Conservation Commission is a panel of local citizens who serve as consultants to the Town in matters concerning the protection of our community’s natural resources. Commission meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of each month in the Alden Town Hall.

The Commission is also responsible for the maintenance of the Joe Panza Nature Trail {located in Memorial Park} and has published The Joe Panza Nature Guide Trail Guide Book, which provides easy identification of flora and fauna located along the trail. The Commission along with Alden High School teacher Dave Bauer works with area high school students on improvements to the nature trail.

AECC has also established the Research and Resource Library in the Alden Town Hall providing area students and residents’ information on Ecology and the Environment, multiple guides to wild life, plant life, and flood plain maps. The library is a research only facility and does not lend materials.
